Enabling the Future of Aerospace Innovation

For 45 years, we have provided the aerospace solutions that overcome the challenges faced by all engineers and accelerate your certification process. Whether it is DO-178C compliance, heterogeneous multicore (lockstep) architectures and supporting an open ecosystem, our TRACE32®  debug and trace tools help you deliver innovation faster and prepare for the skies ahead. As the thought leader for debug and trace technologies, we are the experienced, innovative and reliable partner you need to build the future of flight, making aviation safer, more efficient and more connected.

Ensure Aerospace Reliability, Safety, and Performance

Our modular TRACE32® trace and debugging platform is built to keep pace with the growing complexity of aerospace software, turning rigorous verification into a competitive edge rather than a bottleneck. With TRACE32®, you get code that isn't just functional, but provably correct, delivered as fast as your certification timeline allows. Decades of hands-on experience with multicore and lockstep debugging on safety-critical systems mean we bring more than a tool to the table — we bring a track record you can build your - even multicore - certification strategy according to CAST-32A / AMC 20-193 on.

Supporting Legacy to the Newest High End SoCs & FPGAs

In aerospace, applications are often maintained for more than 30 years. For many legacy chip architectures, TRACE32® is the only tool that still supports them just as it does the latest, highly complex SoCs and FPGAs. In total, it supports over 15,000 chips and 150 chip architectures, including all those used in the aerospace industry.

Synchronized Multi-Target & -Architecture Debugging

Avionics systems usually run redundant lock-step channels on identical, but also different architectures (dissimilar redundancy, e.g. e.g. Arm(R) plus RISC-V), which requires synchronized and heterogeneous multi-target debug support. TRACE32(R) can synchronize debugging and profiling across all these different channels with only one tool - an unique feature in the tool industry.

Entire System-View including OSes/Hypervisors

In aviation, where safety is paramount, operating systems and hypervisors tailored to these requirements are used, including standard products and in-house solutions. With its industry-leading “Awarenesses,” TRACE32® provides deep insight into the entire system and, thanks to its EDK (Extension Development Kit), even into in-house products. ARINC 653 is also supported.

Minimize Tool Qualification Efforts

Functional safety is a key requirement for avioncs systems. Qualification according to DO-178 C also includes the development tools used. Our certified Tool Qualification Support Kits (TQSK) provide everything you need to qualify our TRACE32®  solutions.

Speed up Safety Certification & Improve Code Quality

Code coverage according to DO-178C Level A/B including MC/DC is a requirement for certification to evaluate the completeness of test cases. With trace-based, non-invasive code coverage measurements using our TRACE32® tools, you can reduce the time and costs quite substantial.

Simplify and Accelerate WECT/Timing Analysis on Multicore Architectures

DO-178C certification of multicore architectures requires complex WCET (Worst Execution Time) and timing analysis. In particular multicore interferences like cache and/or bus contentions have to be taken in consideration. Our TRACE32(R) tools provide trace based benchmark counters to measure timings with zero overhead and no need to interrupt CPUs.

Seamless Transition from virtual Targets to Real Silicon

Development cycles are getting shorter and shorter. It is essential to discover and debug issues as soon as possible (“Shift-Left”). Our TRACE32® tools can connect to various simulators, emulators, and virtual targets as well as perform host-debugging. You can reuse the scripts generated in this phase throughout the entire product life cycle because the user interface and scripting commands stay the same from simulations through use in the field by your customers. Important: Certification evidences like timing and code coverage must come from the real target, not the virtual one. Therefore the seamless transition from virtual to real targets is even more important.
