TRACE32 support GRand Unified Bootloader (GRUB) debugging for Arm and Intel processors
Lauterbach, the leading manufacturer of microprocessor development tools, is proud to announce that it has extended the bootloader awareness for the GRand Unified Bootloader GRUB. TRACE32, the class leading debug tools from Lauterbach now provides extended debug features for GRUB on Arm and Intel architectures.
The GRUB awareness plugin for TRACE32 allows the developer to visualize different resources and objects such as the list of environment variables, supported file systems, available boot devices as well as the list of all loaded GRUB modules and their dependencies.
When the awareness is configured, extra features become available. The included symbol autoloader allows for the automatic loading of symbol files that correspond to executed GRUB modules.
All features of the TRACE32 awareness for GRUB do not require any additional target configuration or any hooks or patches within the bootloader itself. The philosophy of TRACE32 is for the application to behave exactly the same in the debug environment as on the final product; only this way can 100% certainty of testing be achieved.
