TRACE32® supports cores using the ARMv8-M architecture


Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn, December 2016 – Lauterbach, the leading manufacturer of microprocessor development tools, has announced that its TRACE32® debug tools now support cores of the new ARMv8-M family.

At the ARM Tech Con in Santa Clara ARM® announced the new Cortex®-M23 low power small footprint and also the Cortex®-M33 core which have similar performance to the existing Cortex®-M3/M4 devices. These new cores are the first members of the ARMv8-M family. With a new integrated version of the ARM® TrustZone® these cores are suitable for secure IoT applications.

The TRACE32® tools fully support these cores along with the ARM® TrustZone® mechanism allowing the developer to have full visibility and control during the development process.

The TRACE32® tools provide the ARM® Cortex®-M microprocessor developer with a comprehensive debug environment to save development time and ensure the end project meets its specification. For customers who already have Lauterbach debug tools for Cortex®-M a software update will easily enable access to these new device types.
