Support for AndesCore N-series processors

Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn, Feb-16-2009

Höhenkirchen-Siegertsbrunn, February - 2009: LAUTERBACH, the market and technology leader in hardware debuggers and real-time trace tools, announced that the TRACE32 PowerTools now support the AndesCore N-series processors, currently including 3 fully binary- and debugger-compatible families: the N12, N10 and N9.

The AndesCore N-series are fully-synthesizable softcores of general purpose 32-bit embedded processors, with variety of configuration options including MMU, MPU, cache and local memory, and their derivatives (such as firmcores and hardcores). They can be configured for performance sensitive applications that run embedded Linux or real time operating systems at over 600 MHz at 90 nm process, as well as cost and power sensitive applications that require small footprint and manageable power consumption at 100 MHz or lower at 0.18 um process.

The high-end N12 family is intended for Digital TV, Digital Home, Set top Box, MFP, networking products such as Switch and Router, mobile phone products such as Smart Phones etc. The mid-range N10 family is designed for Portable Audio/Media Player, DVB/DMB, DVD, DSC, Intelligent Toys and Game Consoles. The newly-released low-end N9 family is crafted for MCU, Storage Controllers, Automotive Control and Toys.

TRACE32 offers OS-aware support for most popular operating systems (including Linux kernel and Nucleus Plus, etc.) that run on AndesCore N-series processors. Lauterbach is pleased about the emerging cooperation with Andes Technology and the usage of the TRACE32 debugger to speed up the software development on Andes processor cores.

"Andes are pleased to have TRACE32 debugger support to speed up the software development on Andes processor cores", Dr. Charlie Su, CTO of Andes Technology said. With the support of TRACE32 Power Tools, not only does Andes keep its promise to provide customers with the best development tools, but it also shows the flexibility and practicality of AndesCore families in hardware debugging support and compatibilities among AndesCore families.
