Debugger and Trace for AMCC PowerPC 460EX/460GT
Hofolding, April 2008 - LAUTERBACH, the market and technology leader in hardware debuggers and real-time trace tools, announced that the TRACE32 PowerTools are now available for the AMCC PPC460EX and PPC460GT. The existing PPC400 debugger has been
enhanced for the new processor architecture.The PPC460EX, used for imaging, wireless access and industrial control application, and the 460GT, intended for control plane processors, are the new high-end flagships of the AMCC PowerPC family.
Included in the TRACE32 PowerView software is the efficient and user-friendly HLL debugger for C and C++, the program flow trace, run time statistics and the flash programming tool for the external flash memory. This added support brings a mature
high-end debugging solution to AMCC PPC460EX and PPC460GT. Ready to use start-up scripts for the brand new evaluation kits can be provides to set-up the JTAG debugging and the real-time trace interfaces.
Tool configuration:
- JTAG debugger: Power Debug USB 2.x and debug cable for PPC44x
- JTAG debugger and real-time trace: PowerTrace, debug cable for PPC44x and self-calibrating AUTOFOCUS II preprocessor.
All Lauterbach hardware (USB2.0 or 10/100 or 1000 MBit Ethernet) runs under Windows, Linux and on Workstations. The software of existing PPC44x debuggers can be easily updated to support the new processor family.
