First Nonintrusive JAVA Debugger available

Traditionally JAVA debugging was done via the JAVA debug protocol. This required hooks in the virtual machine that may change the execution behaviour of the software. It further required extra resources for the debugger - including a communication channel to the host. Combined JAVA and native debugging was not possible this way.

The new JAVA debugger of TRACE32 makes a completely different approach. It requires no debug hooks in the virtual machine and no communication channel. Also debugging mixed JAVA and Native applications is fully supported. This allows to debug problems in native code that are related to a specific JAVA program. It includes setting breakpoints on JAVA and native code and a stack backtrace thru both worlds. Current adaptions support J2ME_CLDC, J2ME_CDC and Kaffee virtual machines. Other virtual machines may be added on request.
